The best way to find out how much a specific oral surgery procedure costs is to come to our office for a consultation. The cost of most procedures depends on your specific needs—the severity of your case, your treatment goals, and the extent of work needed. That said, we’ve provided a brief guide to oral surgery costs below, with price ranges for several of the procedures we perform at Rio Grande Oral Surgery.
Dental Implants
Price Range: $1942
Dental implants have quickly become the preferred method of replacing missing teeth because by replacing the root, they prevent bone loss in the jaw, resulting in a stronger bite and more youthful appearance. There are a number of different types of dental implant restorations, from single tooth dental implants to full dentures, which means the cost can vary a great deal depending on the type of restoration you need.
Wisdom Teeth
Price Range: $245- $379
When wisdom teeth are causing crowding or are impacted either fully or partially, they need to be removed. Here, too, there is some variation in pricing because a tooth that is fully erupted is much less complicated to extract than one that is completely trapped in the jawbone. In these cases, pieces of bone may need to be removed in order to access the tooth.
Full Arch Restoration
Price Range:
The All-on-4 full arch restoration allows you to replace all of the teeth in a single upper or lower arch in only one day. This procedure is economical compared to other full arch dental implant restorations and it is often a fit for patients who do not have the bone density needed for traditional implants.
Sinus Lift $1393
Price Range:
A sinus lift is a bone grafting procedure that rebuilds the back of the upper jawbone to create a stable base for dental implant placement. You may need to have this procedure if you have been missing molars or premolars for some time, although there are some patients who naturally have less bone here due to genetics.
Bone Grafting
Price Range: $300
Bone grafting allows us to rebuild areas of your jaw that have weakened after periodontal disease or tooth loss. While bone grafting is most commonly required prior to dental implant surgery, that is not the only reason it might be recommended. Once the grafting material is placed in the jawbone, it will encourage your body to regenerate the lost or weakened bone.
Pre-Prosthetic Surgery
Price Range:
Sometimes the bony ridge in the mouth must be shaped in order for a denture to fit securely and comfortably. This pre-prosthetic surgery is performed by an oral surgeon. Once complete, your dentures will fit better, with less slipping, sores, and difficulties speaking and eating.
Tooth Extractions
Price Range: $166-$245
Whether it’s due to injury, infection, or to make room for orthodontic treatment, we perform tooth extractionstooth extractions every day at Rio Grande Oral Surgery. While considering the cost of this procedure, don’t forget to factor in the cost of sedation if you choose to use it.
Impacted Canines
Price Range: $379
Impacted canines are a common problem that occurs when one or more canine teeth fail to pass through the gums. Dr. Steel can work with your dentist or orthodontist to determine the best course of treatment; the range above reflects the cost to expose the canines prior to orthodontic treatment, although they can also be extracted.
Facial Trauma
Price Range:
Facial trauma is complex and often involves a number of different procedures for treatment. As such, the costs involved can vary dramatically. Both your health insurance and your dental insurance will likely provide coverage in these circumstances.
Oral Pathology
Price Range: $444-$1492
If you or your dentist finds an abnormal sore or tissue, an oral biopsy is needed to rule out the possibility of cancer. A biopsy may be incisional, which removes only a few cells, or excisional, which removes an entire lesion.
