Expose and Bond Reviews
Impacted teeth are teeth that become stuck in the gums because they are unable to follow their proper growth track. Teeth can become impacted for many reasons — your baby teeth may not fall out in time to allow your adult teeth to grow in, or there may be a growth blocking the tooth's path. Aside from wisdom teeth, the canine teeth are the most likely to become impacted. While wisdom teeth can simply be removed, canine teeth are vital to the development of your bite and tooth alignment, so it's important to have them treated.
Treatment for impacted canines typically involves your oral surgeon working closely with your orthodontist to move the teeth into the proper position. The procedure, called exposure and bonding, requires your oral surgeon to expose the tooth in your gums and attach a bracket and chain, which your orthodontist then uses to guide the tooth carefully into place. At Rio Grande Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center, we have experience treating patients of all ages. You can hear more about the expose and bond treatment by watching the videos below.
